Maxine Waters Is No Pushover!

   Congress woman Maxine Waters is no stranger to controversy, but recently she has been spotlighted for her outspoken views late last month exhorting citizens to protest against President Trumps "Zero Tolerance Policy" on immigration. Waters received a lot of flack for being accused of inciting violence against political opponents from both Republicans and also her on party. The President even decided to make some rather ominous comments:

    Even members from her own party publicly  condemned her comments including Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi and Senator Chuck Schumer. While both sides seem to agree that harassment or incitement of violence towards political opponents is not a good thing, their were some people who were pushing back pointing the finger at Donald Trump setting the tone for the discourse. Despite mutual push back on her viral video, Congressman Waters is standing by her statements and has gone on to say that she did not promote violence but "peaceful protest".Since then Waters has gone on several media new outlets refusing to back down and apologize for her statements. Saturday, Waters gave an epic speech in Los Angeles calling for the White Houses "Zero Tolerance Policy" to end. Waters criticized members of her own party by saying that their were some who were afraid to speak out but said that she "has no fear, I am in this fight".

   Strong words from a strong woman, despite having to cancel a few appearances after receiving death threats following her viral speech on a call to protest. Waters did not let that stop her on Saturday and went back to her original messaging calling for the impeachment of Donald Trump. We can see that Waters is no push over and is a force to reckon. President Trump better watch out, nothing like a mad black woman on your heals who advocates for her truth against all opposition.

When Women Rape Men

       It might come to no surprise, but the idea of  men being raped by women is heavily disputed and even heavily debunked. I believe the scenario people cannot get pass is "how could a big strong man, be raped by a woman?"  Just to be clear, all of the definitions of  rape exclude men in gender, but not with regard to consent. Consent is an important factor when determining if a man can be raped by a woman, after all there are variables that could put a man in a precarious situation to be sexually assaulted. According to the law, only a man can commit rape (as the penetration has to be with a penis). I would argue what if he is under the influence, or in an incapacitated state of mind and the woman sexually assaults him to penetration, if he does not consent, why isn't that rape? What if she used her mouth?     If penetration denotes the rape by forceful penetration of the penis then the law...

Scared of Interracial DATING???

          Starting a conversation about race is not always the easiest thing to do. Recently, one of my friends told me that they had to deal with something that had been extremely challenging for them. Telling his mom that  he was in love with a white woman, he is black by the way.  To clarify, his mom is not racist and has never exhibited any of those behaviors. However, she has intimated that she might be a little disappointed if he did bring home a woman who was not black. It wasn’t what she said exactly, it was more of what she didn’t say. For the record, his mom is a woman of many words to contextualize this, her silence when jokingly asked about her son dating a white girl hypothetically was louder than her speaking.
